Malware Removal Software

May 19th, 2010

Everyone knows that they should keep anti-virus software on their computers.  There is a lot of news about viruses, and a lot of information saying that it is good to have virus protection.  The nightly news seems to be filled with stories about online threats, and people hacking into computers to find your private information.  But, most people aren’t aware that viruses aren’t the only danger to their computers.  Malware is also a risk.  Malware is short for malicious software.  These are programs that have no other purpose than to break into your computer, steal your information or completely take over your computer.  You may have heard about some forms of malware on the news.  Worms and Trojan horses are both types of malware.  You could, at this very moment, have malware on your computer, and not even know it.  But, malware removal is possible.

Malware is very easy to pick up.  You can get it through your email, or surfing the ‘net.  Any time you open an attachment or download anything, you put yourself at risk.  The person who sent you that email might not even know that they sent you an email, because the malware might have taken over their email account.  The people who write malware enjoy seeing if they can get past all the of defenses and new security programs that are always coming out.  It’s a challenge to them.  Malware isn’t just a problem for the average user, it’s also something that businesses and governments have to deal with.   Many governments have started creating agencies to deal with cyber-safety.

Malware isn’t going to be going anywhere anytime soon.  In fact, it’s only going to get better.  But, there are programs that you can find that will protect your computer from malware, and keep your information safe.  These programs will not only do malware removal, they will also immunize your browser and other files against  malware infection.  When you have one of these programs, it is very easy to update it regularly, and run regular scans.  Many of them will let you set these tasks to be done automatically.

There are many different choices of malware removal programs out there.  Some are very good, some are not.  When you choose a program, you need to make sure that it not only removes malware, but that it also protects against further infestation.  There are some things you will want to do before you choose any kind of software.  Talk to friends to see if any of them use a program that they like.  You can also check out the big names in software, to see if they have malware removal software available.  They will probably have good programs, but will come with a high sticker price.  Many programs like this will come with a free trial, which is a good way to shop around to find the right program for you.  Some are easier to use than others.  Even with the big brand names, you need to check their reputation.  That will just take a quick Google search.  Once you find a program that works for you, that you like, and has a good reputation, get it for your computer, and enjoy the feeling of being totally secure.

what malware removal systems can I trust?

July 11th, 2010

I believe there is spyware on my computer, But I don’t know how to safely remove it.

I had two computers get infected with MalwareAlarm, and it was not only annoying but caused me to lose work because it would pop up every time I tried to save something – making me lose the work I had just done.

I used Spyware Doctor to remove MalwareAlarm, because both Norton and McAfee were not able to catch it, and because it works extremely well. I took screenshots along the way and wrote out instructions, in hopes of helping others get their system cleaned as well (link below).

have you ever thought about practicing your Virus and Malware removal skills?

July 7th, 2010

it’s about time for me to get a new computer, and i was thinking of making my old computer a guinea pig for computer viruses so i can practice removing them, preventing them, reading Hijack This logs, etc.

have you ever thought of that? first of all, where do you get those nasty things?

You get them from emails or by clicking on certain ads. I’ve thought about it, but I quit the computer business and want nothing to do with it.

What are the 4 Big Differences Between a Paid Version of a Virus Removal Program and a Free Version Virus Removal Program?

July 4th, 2010

There is no big difference on what Viruses, Spyware and Malware that a Free version of the programs will remove from your computer.  They will work against the same infections, paid or free versions.

Here is the Difference between Paid Virus, Spyware and Malware Removal Programs and Free Virus, Spyware, and malware removal Programs.

#1.  Real-Time Monitoring of your PC

Ø  Paid Version:  It will Actively Monitor your computer in real-time and stop viruses, spyware, and malware from infecting your PC.

Ø  Free Version:  It will only remove the infections from your PC when you run a scan.

#2.  Updates to the Program

Ø  Paid Version:  You can setup the program to get updated virus definitions over the internet every day or week.  You can pick the schedule.

Ø  Free Version:  You will need to run the program and then click on the update button to update the program.

#3.  Scanning your PC for Infections

Ø  Paid Version:  You can setup the program to automatically scan your computer daily, weekly, or even monthly.  I would recommend you scan your computer every day if you have the paid version.

Ø  Free Version:  You can only scan your computer when you think about it.  I would always recommend you to scan your PC at least once a week.

#4.  Support for your Program

Ø  Paid Version:  You can call or email the company that made the program and get your support questions answered.

Ø  Free Version:  No Support – You are on your own.

I will always recommend people to buy the paid version if you can afford it. With the paid version you can “SET IT AND FORGET IT”. You need to be proactive in your fight against these evil viruses and spyware.

If you can’t afford the paid version then you need to use the free versions. Just try and setup a time each week to update and scan your computers.
